Linotype One-Line

I just received a new ebay purchase, the 1958 Lintoype One-Line Specimen Book. Collecting font and type specimen books has been a bit of a side hobby for the last couple of years, and this was the first Linotype Book (apart from their most recent one) that I’ve got. I’ve not really assigned a budget to the hobby that’s allowed me to amass a huge collection, but I periodically peruse ebay for interesting finds, and bid within reason.

I particularly like the older specimen books, the pre computer typesetting, it seems the older they are the more elaborate the layouts and demonstrations of the fonts, this 1958 one is actually fairly mundane compares to some books I have from the 20’s and 30’s. It still has a good focus and coverage of typesetting and the printing process from back then.
