iPhone store credit to charity

I want to give my newly acquired iPhone store credit for $100 to charity, but I need apple to make it possible.

After doing some googling the only suggestions I could find was a comment about buying iSocks for the homeless (yeah, funny), and a post on the apple forums asking apple to make it easy for people to donate their early adopter refunds.

If nothing happens I’ll probably look into printing it out and wandering down the road to the local school and see if they want it. I have a feeling they probably view me with great suspicion.

Fingers crossed apple just makes it “easy”.

The “Buy Jim and iPhone Foundation” is always looking for donations :)

But seriously, your best bet would be to purchase something with our credit then donate that. For example buying children’s educational software and donating it to a local library or purchasing a printer and donating to a school.

In any case you should check with whomever you want to donate to see if they’ll accept the donation (there may be licensing issues for things like software, but who knows).

Yeah I’m leaning towards just donating $100 to charity and just keeping the credit for a “normal” apple purchase, rather than treating it like it’s free cash.

Thanks for the compliment on the redesign, sudden decision at midnight that I should change everything (I’m very tired right now) long way to go though, probably half way.
